During the first half of the class, participants write several different stories and then choose one story to develop into a 4-6 minute speech. In the second half of the class, participants learn effective public speaking skills, use a variety of microphones, and receive one-on-one coaching from the class instructor, volunteers, and other participants in order to deliver an engaging, polished speech at a public showcase for family, friends, and members of the community.
