Opening Minds, Opening Doors (OMOD) is a public speaker training program for adults with disabilities. Through an intensive six-week writing workshop, participants craft personal stories and develop public speaking skills to transform those stories into powerful presentations.

We invite you to a showcase of stories that run the gamut of life experiences – from work and family to advocacy, immigration, forays into the theatre, and more. Together these presentations will shatter misconceptions about what it means to live with a disability and remind us that everyone, regardless of ability and background, shares a common humanity. Directions to the Ground Floor Theatre: The theatre is located where Springdale and Airport meet, behind Austin Bouldering Project and Daily Greens, tucked between Austin East Ciders and Friends and Allies Brewery. Park in our parking lot, which is accessible off Springdale, just past Daily Greens, and around the back of the building.
