Express your story with powerful words and bold colors! Reflect, create and connect to your personal story through freestyle, stream of conscious style writing exercises. Each week you will focus on a different theme and have a piece of writing and a piece of art at the end of each session.
The Elements class takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month from 2:30-4:30pm at the Town Lake YMCA in the large group exercise room on the first floor.
Foundations is a class for people of all unique mental and physical characteristics. Each class will explore ideas like developing body awareness, non-verbal communication, understanding of time/rhythm and choice making to support students in the discovery of their own movement language. Students will have the opportunity to awaken their creativity, notice habitual movement patterns in order to expand movement possibilities, and have a lot of fun in the process.
RETURN TO THE WATER encourages artists to ponder the wonders of water and submit artwork reflective of its multi-dimensional gift. Nature scenes (Lakes, Rivers, Streams), Boats, Tones of Blues, Meditations on Ocean Waves, Baptisms for the Soul and Inner Depths, Aquatic Abstractions.
The University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability (IOD) is currently inviting artists to submit artwork for its 2020 Calendar. Disability Employment Awareness Month is celebrated in Texas every October. The Texas Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities produces a colorful poster for display in businesses, government offices and schools. The posters are intended to spark a conversation about employment of people with disabilities. Artwork for the poster is selected by a submission and judging process and is open to any Texas artist with a disability.
