Art Spark artist Elise Maynor is a graphic Designer with an editorial portrait photography background, living in Austin, Texas. She is a combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, a wife and a mother of three, originally from Seattle, Washington. She has a portrait photography business, Illuminated Anchor, specializing in people, editorial and fashion style portraits which are magazine ready. Together with her husband, she co-owns Magnetic North Graphics & Design.
Elise holds a Digital Design Diploma and an Associates of Science of Digital Photography degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Her graphic design skills are just beginning while she specializes in personal and business branding packages, editorial, and publication design. In photography, she is technically skilled in ambient lighting, monolight strobe lighting, on location, and studio work.
Elise says she is driven to create art and document life by an occurrence she initially didn’t recognize. In 2009, she suffered a head injury which impacted how well she could remember things at length. Being able to use photography as a tool to remember and recall her past emotions enabled her to reconnect to her life in a deeper and more emotionally connected way. Realizing this, she found a true passion for photographing others and finding beauty in all individuals.
Elise will be one of 20+ artists taking part in our Valentine’s Art and Crafts Pop-up Shop on Saturday, February 8th. To learn more about Elise and her work, please visit her website or her Instagram page.
