Dear Friends,
VSA Texas has changed its name to Art Spark Texas, because we Spark the Creative in Everyone. Our name may have changed, but our mission—to challenge perceptions of how people contribute by creating an arts-inspired, inclusive community of individuals with diverse abilities—remains steadfast.

We couldn’t be happier with our new name because it is the result of a year-long process by our Board of Directors and program participants to identify a name that really ignites our passions. With this name, we can more clearly communicate who we are, who we serve, and what we do.

There are so many exciting things coming for Art Spark Texas: Stand Up for Mental Health Comedy Night; Dancing in Community workshop with Karenne Koo; 2019 Artist of the Year Awards; 11th Annual Holiday Art and Gift Show; EXIT 12 Dance; Veteran Writers Conference; Giving Voice and so much more.

The new logo*—made up of intersecting sticks of purple, blue, green, teal, orange, and red—represents the many individuals, organizations, government entities, volunteers and artists who lend their expertise and financial support to promote our mission. As a catalyst that inspires others to do good work, we see ourselves as the spark that both emits a light to bring like-minded individuals together, and ignites the confidence, ideas and courage to make a difference in our community.

The Art Spark Texas logo speaks to our core principles that communities are strengthened by the inclusion of every voice, the creative process allows space for connection and healing, and everyone is welcome in the world of the imagination. Our Spark promotes a safe and inclusive environment where individuals with diverse abilities can thrive and grow.
