Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to host our Spring Break Photography Internship at Art Spark Texas, an immersive five-day program designed to introduce students to the art and craft of photography. Under the expert guidance of Anthony Maddaloni, a seasoned photographer and educator, students explored a variety of photographic techniques that deepened their artistic expression and technical skills.

Throughout the week, students engaged in hands-on activities that spanned digital and analog photography. Using their phones as creative tools, they learned about composition, lighting, and storytelling—demonstrating that powerful images can be captured with the technology they already have at their fingertips. The students also explored cyanotype printing, an alternative photography technique that dates back to the 19th century.
A highlight of the program was our darkroom session at East Side Silver Print's studio, where students had the chance to work with traditional film. From loading film into cameras to developing their own prints in the darkroom, they got a firsthand look at the patience and precision required in analog photography.
At Art Spark Texas, we believe in the power of the arts to inspire, educate, and empower individuals of all abilities. This program was not just about photography—it was about expanding perspectives, embracing experimentation, and building a community of young creatives who see the world through a new lens.
We are so grateful to Anthony Maddaloni, East Side Silver Print, and our amazing students for making this internship an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to see where their creativity takes them next!
