Art Spark Texas presents “Paws and Claws” Art Pop-up. Introduce your pet to the Austin art scene! To participate, donate to Art Spark Texas and register for a pet portrait.
The “Paws and Claws” original pet portrait exhibit is an annual fundraiser to support Art Spark Texas artists and programs. Last year we had a great exhibit–take a look at this short YouTube video below featuring Texas pets including cats, dogs, horses, an elephant, and a lama. We can’t wait to see your pet photos this year.
Don’t wait; donations and photos accepted through Tuesday, April 30, 2019 and we offer shipping to out-of-town pet owners.
How does it work? Celebrate your pet or surprise a friend by making a donation to Art Spark Texas and one of our artists will produce an 8”x 10” original artwork based on a photo of your beloved pet. Artwork size is approximate and each portrait is unique to the artist’s style and preferred medium.
All portraits will be revealed and displayed together publicly at our FREE “Paws and Claws” art pop-up. Bring your friends to admire your pet’s debut appearance in the Austin art scene or donate in honor or memory of a friend’s pet and surprise them at the exhibit.
The art pop-up runs from 3-4:30 pm at the Ground Floor Theatre on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
The “Paws and Claws” art pop-up is open to the public but in order to get your pet’s portrait featured in the pop-up you’ll need to do a couple of things:
- Make an $85 (per pet) donation to Art Spark Texas
- Send us a photo of your pet Click here
- Attend our May 18, 2019 pop-up art exhibit and pick up art by 4:30 pm (We can ship portraits outside of Austin)
Would you like to include more than one pet in a portrait? We can do that! The $85 donation is per pet (plus a $2 credit card fee). Payments can be made online change the quantity to the number of pets you would like to include in your portrait.
Upload your photo or send it by email. Once you’ve made a donation, send your pet’s photo through our online registration form or email a photo to Gina Panza Woodruff with your pet’s name and a little bit about them to help our artist get creative.
